Looking up pets details/rehoming a pet
In accordance with GDPR regulations, access to look up records and rehome to a new keeper is granted to organisations who meet our welfare criteria. You can only apply for a Petlog Welfare online account if your organisation falls into one of the following three categories:
1. Registered charity (or CIC)
If you are a registered charity, have a registered charity number. Then you can apply for an account.
To find out more about formalising your animal rescue organisation, please visit the gov.uk website.
2. Association of Dog and Cat Homes Membership
A member or affiliate of the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH). Then you can apply for an account.
To find out more about becoming a member of the ADCH, please visit their website.
3. The Kennel Club Breed Rescue
Are you a registered Kennel Club Breed Rescue and appear in The Kennel Club Breed Rescue directory? Then you can apply for an account.
Should you require any support to set up your account and complete the application, please visit our Help and Advice page and navigate down the page to our Implanters and Welfare section, where you will find a step-by-step guide on how to set up your web account and apply to Petlog for Welfare partner permissions.
My welfare/rescue does not meet the criteria
Regretfully, we are no longer be able to accept microchip registrations or rehome requests via email or on paper via the post.
Here at Petlog we understand how important microchipping database services are to rescue organisations involved in rehoming pets.
Currently, we have over 1,600 active welfare accounts accessing Petlog services via our website. However, if your organisation is unable to meet our welfare partner criteria, then a Transfer of Keepership will need to be done by the new keeper. They can do this via our website.
Alternatively, if you have a keeper account with us, you can advise us of the new keeper’s details and we will contact them to confirm the Transfer of Keepership.
